Man remanded over €40,000 cash-in-transit raid in Dublin

Suspect accused of stealing safe box from security man at Clarehall Shopping Centre

A 20-year-old man was remanded in custody today after he was charged over a €40,000 cash-in-transit heist in Dublin at the weekend.

Sean Donnelly, from Belcamp Crescent, Priorswood, north Dublin, appeared at Dublin District Court today accused of robbery at the Clarehall Shopping Centre.

He is accused of stealing a cash-in-transit safe box containing about €40,000 in cash from a security man at about 12.10pm on Saturday, April 26th.

Following the hearing today he was remanded in custody by Judge Cormac Dunne.

Mr Donnelly is due to appear at Cloverhill District Court on May 2nd.

The car believed to have been used in the raid was located a short distance from the scene and has been preserved for a technical examination. The cash box has not been recovered.
