Dublin South Central TD Joan Collins and councillors Pat Dunne and Tina McVeigh, who supported striking Greyhound Waste workers in their lengthy pay dispute with their employers, may yet face a significant legal costs bill.
Louis McEntagart, for Greyhound, told the High Court yesterday all legal proceedings could be struck out, apart from a legal costs issue against the three politicians.
Mr McEntagart told Mr Justice Anthony Barr that after two weeks of negotiations between the company and Siptu, a resolution had been reached and disposed of on Monday.
He said there was a contempt motion before the court for the attachment and committal of a number of people involved in protests and blockades but this could now be struck out along with all other proceedings and orders and undertakings which would now automatically fall.
Mr McEntagart told the court that a number of notice parties had been joined to the legal proceedings and injunctions had been granted against Mr Dunne, Mr McVeigh and Ms Collins.
