Drugs worth €154,000 seized in Co Meath

Drugs with an estimated street value of €154,000 have been seized by gardai in Co Meath.

It is the second such seizure in the last week in the Athboy area.

In this most recent operation, gardaí from Kells, uncovered cannabis plants and a small amount of cocaine in a planned search of a location near Athboy.

The cocaine is said to be worth about €12,000.

That search took place on Wednesday evening and no arrests have been made.

Last weekend gardaí recovered cannabis plants, worth €350,000, at an advanced stage of growth in a house in the Athboy area.

In relation to that seizure a 22-year-old Chinese national was arrested and charged.

He is due to appear again Friday morning at Cloverhill District Court.
