A large fire at a storage facility in Waterford city is now largely under control, fire services have said.
Fire crews are still at the scene at South East Port Services, on the outskirts of the city where nine appliances from Waterford City, Dunmore East, Tramore and Thomastown in Kilkenny fought the blaze.
The fire service, which was alerted shortly before 10am, said a quantity of diesel was involved in the blaze, but most of the materials are organic materials such as plastics.
Gardaí evacuated the facility and put a 200m exclusion zone in place. The N29 Link Road has been closed to traffic.
The fire service is not aware of any chemicals in the facility at the moment but are advising anyone in the area to keep their windows closed as a precaution.
No injuries have been reported.
