Gardaí have arrested two men and two women in their 20s and 30s in connection with a cash in transit robbery at the Orwell Shopping Centre, Templeogue yesterday afternoon.
At about 4.15pm two men, one armed with what was described as a firearm, confronted a security worker as he was making a cash collection at the Orwell Shopping Centre. They escaped with a sum of money in a jeep which was found abandoned at the Spawell Car Park a short time later. There were no injuries or shots discharged.
In a follow up operation last night gardaí stopped a car in the Finglas area and arrested the four. They are currently detained at Terenure and Rathmines Garda Stations under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
