Gardaí are seeking the public's assistance in identifying a man whose body was discovered in a wooded area in Galway.

The deceased, who is estimated to be aged between 30 and 40 years, had no identification on his person when he was found. His death is not being treated as suspicious.

He was approximately six foot tall with black hair and of a broad or strong build, they said.

He was wearing a gold bracelet watch of the brand Caravelle by Bulova. He was also wearing a black leather jacket with blue jeans and white blue Athletech runners.

He wore a black belt with a metal flower design, studs and a silver colour buckle.
