A cyclist was seriously injured when she was hit by a bus in south Dublin last night.

The 55-year-old was struck by the vehicle at about 9.40pm on Burlington Road, a Garda spokesman said.

She was taken from the scene by ambulance to St. Vincent’s hospital.

Her condition is understood to be serious.

The scene of the incident was examined by Garda forensic collision investigators and investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
