A 23-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman have been arrested by gardaí investigating a serious assault on a 20-year-old man in Tallaght in the early hours of this morning.

A 23-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman have been arrested by gardaí investigating a serious assault on a 20-year-old man in Tallaght in the early hours of this morning.

The incident happened at about 4am on a pedestrian bridge at Priorsgate, Saint Dominic’s road/ N81.

The man suffered serious injuries as a result of this assault which was carried out by a number of suspects. He was taken from the scene to the Adelaide & Meath Hospital, Tallaght and later transferred to Beaumont Hospital where he is in a critical condition.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have been in the vicinity of the pedestrian bridge at Priorsgate, Saint Dominic’s road, between 3.30am and 4.30am today to contact them at Tallaght on 01 6666000, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
