Gardaí hunt murderer who absconded from Shelton Abbey

Gardaí are seeking the public’s help in tracing a convicted murderer who absconded from Shelton Abbey, Arklow, Co Wicklow on Friday morning.

Fredrick Lee (51) left the prison between 6.30am and 7.30am.

He is described as 176cm (5ft 9in) with brown hair and brown eyes.

Lee was found guilty of murder in Leeds Crown Court in 1994.

A Garda spokesman said Lee is an Irish citizen and was repatriated here in 1998.

Shelton Abbey is a minimum or low security prison.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact Arklow Garda station on 04226320 or Wicklow Garda station on 0404 60140 or any Garda station.
