Gardaí seek assistance in identifying man found dead in Carlow

Male was discovered in ‘unresponsive state’ at Cox’s Lane on July 25th and later died

Gardaí are seeking assistance from the public in identifying a man whose body was discovered in Carlow town last week.

The unknown man was found in an unresponsive state at Cox’s Lane when gardaí attended the scene at 9.05pm on Tuesday, July 25th.

He was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.

The deceased is thought to be in his late 20s or early 30s, a Garda spokesman said.

He is about 175cm-177.5cm (5ft 9in-5ft 10in) tall, with short black neatly cut hair and of dark complexion.

He was wearing a red, white and black T-shirt with the wording ‘MCKENZIE’ printed across the chest, grey tracksuit bottoms and black trainers.

He was also in possession of a dark Puma hooded top. A keychain with a number of keys were found in his possession.

It is believed the man is of Polish or East European origin.

Investigating gardaí­ are appealing to anyone who can assist them in identifying the deceased to contact them.
