Gardaí seize €350,000 in cash on M1 motorway

Three men in their 40s were arrested following discovery near Swords, Co Dublin

Three men in their 40s were arrested after gardaí seized €350,000 in cash during an operation on the M1 motorway in Co Dublin.

The seizure was made after a number of vehicles were stopped on the motorway north of Swords on Tuesday evening.

The cash was in vacuum packs, in a hold-all bag.

A vacuum-packing machine was found during a follow-up search at an address in Tallaght, Dublin, while Zopiclone tablets with a street value in excess of €10,000 were found during a follow-up search in Baileboro, Co Cavan.

Two of the men have since been released. One remains in custody at Swords Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
