Two men have been arrested after drugs valued at an estimated €300,000 were seized by gardaí in Dublin’s city centre on Wednesday morning.

About 1kg of heroin, 1.75kg of cocaine and 1.8kg of cannabis resin were found in properties in York Street and in the Mount Brown area.

A team including members of the special detective unit and gardaí from the drugs and organised crime bureau carried out a number of planned raids in the Kevin Street area, as part of the ongoing Operation Thistle.

Two men, one aged 22 and the other in his mid-40s, were arrested in connection with the seizures and are in custody at Kevin Street and Kilmainham Garda stations.
