Dutch police said the man will appear before court on Thursday

A 64-year-old Irish woman was found dead at her home in the Netherlands on Monday.

The woman – who has not been named – was found dead on Monday at her home on Savornin Lohman Street in the city of ‘s-Hertogenbosch (Den Bosch), in the southern province of North Brabant.

Dutch police released a statement on Monday that said her husband was in the house when police arrived, was arrested and taken into custody.

“The woman’s husband, who was present in the home, was arrested and taken to the police station for further investigation. The arrested man is being arraigned on Thursday, November 12th at the Right Commissioner,” reads the statement.

The Department of Foreign Affairs said it was aware of the matter and providing consular assistance to family of an Irish citizen.
