Equality conferences for Dublin Castle

The Equality Tribunal and the Department of Community, Equality and Gaeltacht Affairs are hosting a conference on A Decade of Decisions – the impact of Employment Equality Acts in Ireland, on Wednesday, in Dublin Castle.

The conference will conclude with the launch by Mrs Justice Catherine McGuinness of conference papers from the 10th anniversary conference on the Equal Status Acts and the awarding of the EU Journalist of the Year Award, “For Diversity, against Discrimination”.

Public interest law seminar

The Public Interest Law Alliance is holding a half-day seminar on public interest litigation on Friday, October 29th, from 2pm to 4.30pm in the Distillery Building, Church St, Dublin 7. Speakers include Iain Byrne of Interights on NGOs and public interest litigation; Patrick Dillon-Malone BL on rules of standing; and Brian Kennelly of Blackstone Chambers on protective costs orders. Online dispute service launched

An online Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) service has been launched by the Irish branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators(CIArb). Business and private individuals can obtain the ADR service that best suits their needs and have a specialised CIArb member practitioner assigned to them by applying directly to a new interactive website at www.arbitration.ie

Enforcement of judgment debt

A conference on the enforcement of judgment debt will take place in Griffith College Dublin on Friday, October 22nd, at 1.30pm, chaired by Mr Justice Frank Clarke.
