Two men were arrested when a large quantity of suspected Xanax tablets with an estimated street value of up to €500,000 was seized on Friday evening in Co Wexford.
Gardaí stopped a van on the N25 at Barntown at about 4.30pm and discovered the tablets, thought to contain Alprazolam, pending analysis.
Two men, aged in their 50s and 20s, were arrested at the scene and detained at Wexford Garda station under provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
The two were to appear before a special sitting of Gorey District Court yesterday evening charged in connection with this seizure.
