Tax Institue scholarships
The Irish Tax Institute has launched the 2012 Hunt Scholarship for qualified solicitors and barristers seeking employment and is offering a number of places on its AITI Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) programme.
The scholarships also include a work placement with some of Ireland’s leading legal and accountancy firms in Dublin, including AL Goodbody, Arthur Cox, William Fry Tax Advisors and Grant Thornton.
The deadline for applications is 5pm on September 7th. Applicants can download the brochure and application form on taxinstitute.ie
Conference on privacy in the 21st century
A conference on privacy in the 21st century, examining the impact of technology and the need to take steps to protect privacy, will take place in the Law Society, Blackhall Place, Dublin on September 8th.
Speakers will include Deputy Data Protection Commissioner Gary Davis, Paul C Dwyer, Dr Denis Kelleher and Prof Roy Greenslade. It will be chaired by T J McIntyre. For further information and to register email privacyconference@lawsociety.ie.
Forum on regulation
The Association of Compliance Officers is holding a round table forum to discuss the changing regulatory environment in Ireland on September 6th in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Golden Lane, from 8am-1 pm, followed by lunch.
Keynote speakers from ComReg, the Pensions, Garda and Financial Services ombudsmen, the Central Bank, the Data Protection Commissioner and the Advertising Standards Authority of Ireland, will discuss the existing regulatory regime that applies to financial services.
