People who attended Electric Picnic this year are being given a final chance to reclaim lost property at an open day at Stradbally Garda station in Co Laois on Saturday.

Supt Joe Prendergast said a “significant amount” of property was handed in after this year’s festival.

Asked what was found, he replied: “You name it -phones were a big portion.”

Gardaí had managed to fast-track a lot of items back to the issuing authorities, including passports, driving licences and bank cards .

Remaining items will be put on display at the Garda station between 10am and 5pm on Saturday.

Gardaí have already held open days for property lost at the festival and Supt Prendergast said he expected Saturday’s event to be the final opportunity for people to retrieve items.

“Anything after that we will probably be giving it to charity.”

Images of unclaimed items are due to be posted on the lost property section of the Garda website in the coming days.

Members of the public may call Portlaoise Garda station (057) 8674100 to report specific details of lost items.
