Man (48) had part of his ear bitten off on Easter Saturday night

Police have charged a 33-year-old over incident in Omagh

Police investigating an incident in Omagh in which a man had part of his ear bitten off have charged a 33-year-old.

The incident was reported at around 8pm on Easter Saturday.

Police said some form of altercation took place in the Bridge Street area of the Co Tyrone town which ended in a 48-year-old male having part of his ear bitten off.

The 33-year-old who was arrested for questioning was charged on Sunday with grievous bodily harm with intent.

He is due to appear at Omagh Magistrates Court on Monday.
