A man has been arrested over a string of four armed robberies in two days in south Belfast.

Nobody was hurt in the commercial raids but the shop staff were left “badly shaken”, the PSNI said.

The first robbery took place at about 8.30am on Thursday in the Ormeau Road area of the city, followed by two more in Botanic Avenue at 9.55am and 8.30pm.

A fourth business, Vivo newsagents in Ormeau Road, was targeted by man wielding a knife at 4pm on Friday.
