A man in his 30s has died in a traffic collision in Ballinasloe, Co Galway.
Gardaí are investigating the two vehicle fatal road crash which took place on the Kilconnell Road (R348) outside Ballinasloe yesterday evening.
The man was killed after the car he was a passenger in collided with a second car at Nutfield Cross at 8.35pm. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The female driver of the first vehicle was taken to Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinsloe suffering from serious injuries.
The male and female occupants of the second car were also taken to Portiuncula Hospital with not life-threatening injuries.
The scene of the incident remained closed over night and into this morning, while Garda Forensic Collision Investigators examined the scene.
Local diversions are in place and drivers and advised to use alternative routes when travelling to Ballinasloe.
