Man for court over murder of grandfather in Skerries

A man will appear in court this afternoon charged in connection with the murder of Michael Gannon (55) in Skerries, Co Dublin.

Gardaí will bring the man in his late 20s before a special sitting of the Criminal Courts of Justice at 4.30pm.

Mr Gannon was stabbed to death at his daughter’s home in Mourne Park, Skerries on Thursday evening, allegedly following a confrontation.

Mr Gannon was babysitting his two grandchildren at the time.
