Man held after €170,000 Dublin drug seizure

Arrest follows seizure of drugs and firearm during search

A 37-year-old man is in custody following the seizure of an estimated €170,000 worth of drugs and a firearm during a search in west Dublin yesterday.

Gardaí said the search was carried out at a house in Balgaddy as part of an investigation into the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Ronanstown and Lucan area.

The man, who was present when gardaí searched the house, was arrested at the scene. Cocaine with an estimated street value of €150,000 and cannabis with an estimated street value of €20,000 were found during the search. A firearm and ammunition were also found.

The man is currently detained at Ronanstown Garda Station under drug trafficking legislation.
