A man in his late 30s remains in custody after he was arrested last night following seizure of cocaine with an estimated street value of € 500,000 in west Dublin.

The drugs were found during a search carried out by gardaí attached to the Ronanstown Garda drugs unit.

The man was arrested at the scene and is being held under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, at Lucan Garda station.

He can be held for up to seven days.
