A man in his 20s has died in hospital after a road traffic collision in Co Donegal early this morning.
Two cars collided on the outskirts of Ballybofey some time between 3.30am and 3.45am.
A woman in her early 40s was alone in one car and there were four people in the second car, a woman and three men aged in their 20s to 40s.
All five were taken to Letterkenny General Hospital where the man in his 20s was pronounced dead. The four other people involved in the collision have non-life-threatening injuries.
The Ballybofey to Glenfin Rd is closed as forensic collision investigators examine the scene. Diversions are in place.
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to the collision or anyone who was on the road between 3.20am and 3.45am to contact Ballybofey Garda station on 074 -9137740
