Man questioned over fatal Tallaght stabbing

Gardai in Tallaght are questioning a man in connection with a fatal stabbing in the Jobstown area last night.

The dead man, named locally as James Humphries and who was in his thirties, was taken to Tallaght hospital with stab wounds after the incident at Kiltalown Way at around 6.40pm. He was later pronounced dead.

A postmortem is due to be carried out today.

Another man in his 30s was arrested at the scene and is being questioned at Tallaght Garda station.

The incident is believed to have occurred in a house where a number of people had been drinking throughout the day.

The scene of the incident has been sealed off, pending further investigations.

It is understood Mr Humphries lived in Glenshane, Tallaght and had a son.
