Cannabis with an estimated street value of €560,000 has been seized during a search of a grow house in Co Meath.

Navan gardaí with a warrant conducted a search at the premises in Kilmainhamwood in the town at 8.30am and seized 76 cannabis plants and 56 vacuum-packed bags of cannabis herb. According to gardaí a grow house was located in a shed beside the house and 76 cannabis plants “at an advanced state of growth” were seized along with 20 vacuum-packed bags of cannabis herb.

‘Subject to analysis’

During a search of the house a further 36 vacuum-packed bags of cannabis herb were found. Gardaí said that “subject to analysis” the estimated street value of the drugs is €560,000. No arrests were made during the search but investigations are ongoing and the drugs will be sent for analysis.

It follows the seizure last month of 71kg of herbal cannabis worth €1.43 million in a warehouse in Glasnevin, north Dublin, and the arrest of a 40-year-old man and a seizure in Co Wexford when a 38-year-old man was arrested after 3.67kg of herbal cannabis worth €73,400 was discovered.
