More than 50 people have been arrested and 22 properties in Carlow and Kilkenny searched as part of a Garda “day of action” in the area.
Eleven of those arrested were charged in connection with investigations into burglary, theft and possession of controlled drugs. They are due in court at later dates.
Four people were arrested in connection with investigations into theft, while 30 people were arrested for other matters.
Planned searches of 22 premises were carried out at locations in South Kilkenny and Tullow, Co Carlow.
Quantities of controlled drugs, fireworks and offensive weapons were seized.
More than 140 officers were deployed in the operation as well as 50 student gardaí from the Garda College in Templemore.
Chief Supt Dominic Hayes said the operation would “assist in the detection of criminal offences through proactive policing activities”.
A Garda spokesman said the operation, which was carried out as part of the Operation Thor offensive against rural crime, is ongoing.
