Police issue appeal for information after armed robbery

Masked duo menace staff member before stealing cash from till and making getaway

Detectives are appealing for information after two men armed men entered a filling station last night at about 9pm and threatened staff before making off with cash from the till.

The robbery took place in the Boucher Crescent area of south Belfast. The pair were armed with swords and the ordeal left a staff member badly shaken.

The thieves are believed to have made off in a silver coloured Toyota car and are described as having worn hooded tops with scarfs covering their faces.

Detectives are appealing to anyone who saw the incident or who has information in relation to it to contact CID at Musgrave Police Station on the non-emergency number 101. Information can also be provided in confidence to the independent Crimestoppers charity on 0800-555 111.
