An assault on a 50-year-old man in Co Antrim is being treated as a sectarian hate crime.
He was attacked by three men who got out of a car at Curran Road in Larne just after 3am this morning.
The victim was taken to hospital where he was treated for minor head injuries.
PSNI Inspector Mick Wood said: “The assault is being treated as a sectarian hate crime and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident to contact police.”
Separately, a man has had part of his ear bitten off during an assault in south Belfast. The 46-year-old and two other men aged 57 and 55 were attacked outside a bar at Castle Street last night.
The PSNI said officers were called to the area just after 8.30pm following reports that a number of people were fighting in the street. The men in their 50s were treated for minor head injuries.
