Three police officers escaped injury when device detonated near Belfast on March 9th

Police in Northern Ireland have released a 39-year-old man being held in connection with a bomb attack.

A spokesman for the PSNI said the man, who was detained by the serious crime squad in Belfast yesterday, had been released unconditionally.

Three police officers escaped injury when a device was detonated as they responded to a call at a coastal path on the outskirts of Belfast on March 9th.

Dissident republicans were blamed for the attack at Duncrue towpath. A gun was later found in the area where officers had been lured into a trap.
