Gardaí investigating mother and daughter deaths arrest 26-year-old in Killorglin

Gardaí are still questioning a 26-year-old man arrested early this morning in connection with the murder of a mother and her eight-year-old daughter in Co Kerry earlier this month.

Detectives investigating the double murder of Jolanta Lubiene (27) and her daughter Enrika arrested the man at a house in Killorglin shortly before 6am and brought him to Killarney Garda Station for questioningabout the killings

A house in Killorglin, Co Kerry, was sealed off by detectives investigating the double murder.

The two storey semi detached building in a private estate at Ardmoniel s just minutes walk from Langford Downs where Jolanta and her daughter Enrika were found murdered.

The bodies of Ms Lobiene and her daughter were found in their rented home at around 8.30pm on Sunday, June 16th when gardaí called to the house after a friend of the dead woman was unable to contact her.

Gardaí believe they were killed some time between 2.30pm and 6pm on Saturday, June 15th.

Earlier this week, a man in his 40s was questioned over withholding information and was released without charge.
