A teenager is in critical condition in hospital after she fell from a balcony at a Co Offaly hotel in the early hours of this morning.
A Garda spokesman said the 18-year-old was attending a function when she fell from a first floor balcony at 1.15am.
She landed on a parked car and suffered serious injuries and emergency services were called to the scene.
The injured woman was taken by ambulance to Midland Regional Hospital in Tullamore where she is said to be in a critical condition.

The Garda spokesman said they were investigating, but it “looked like a very unfortunate accident at this stage”.
The Health and Safety Authority has also begun an investigation.
