Three arrested and one hospitalised after graveyard fight

Gardaí looking for witnesses to public order incident in Co Clare’s largest cemetery

Three brothers were arrested and one man hospitalised last night after a fight broke out in Co Clare’s largest graveyard.

The fight took place at 7.30pm at Drumcliffe Cemetery in Ennis after a disagreement between a large number of people.

A number of implements were used as weapons during the incident. Two of the three men arrested for public order offences were in their late teens and one in his early 20s. They are being held in Ennis Garda Station, where they can be kept for up to 24 hours. Gardaí are hoping to have at least two of them in court today.

One man in his 20s was taken to Ennis Hospital after being assaulted during the incident. He was released soon after.
