Three teenagers have appeared in court in connection with a series of burglaries in Co Offaly.
The three - males aged 16, 17 and 19 years - were arrested on Friday in relation to the theft of items such as jewellery worth up to €30,000 and causing an estimated €300,000 in criminal damage to properties in the Edenderry area.
They were taken to Tullamore Garda station where they were held under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 before being charged in connection with the burglaries.
They appeared before Dublin District Court yesterday. The 19-year-old was remanded in custody to appear in court again on Thursday.
The two juveniles were released on bail and will appear at Tullamore District Court on Wednesday.
A Garda spokesman said three other people - two males aged 17 and another aged 21 - had been brought before the courts last week charged in connection with burglaries in the Edenderry area.
