Gardaí have released a woman who was being questioned in relation to the murder of Seamus Doherty in 2012, but are still questioning another man arrested yesterday.

The 57 year-old woman was arrested yesterday by Gardaí investigating the murder of Mr Doherty at his home in Donegal three years ago. She was later released without charge in the early hours of this morning.

The pensioner's body was found in the bathroom of his house in Churchill, and a post-mortem later revealed he had sustained wounds prior to his death.

A 51 year-old man remains in Garda custody. He is being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
