A 22-year-old Irishman has died over the weekend while on holiday in Ibiza. Clondalkin native Paul Guidon died on Saturday night, only hours after arriving on the island, where he was holidaying with three friends.

The cause of Mr Guidon’s death is not yet known. A postmortem examination is set to take place either today or tomorrow.

Mr Guidon’s parents, Paul and Ann, will travel to the Spanish island to bring their son’s body home. Funeral plans have not yet been announced.

The Department of Foreign Affairs is providing consular assistance to Mr Guidon’s parents.

Mr Guidon studied at Moyle Park College in Clondalkin and was working in Uniphar in Citywest.

Tributes on social media websites poured in for Mr Guidon as news of his death broke. On Twitter, friends referred to him as a “young Supersaint” and a “true gent”.
