Crossmaglen 2-19 Garrycastle 1-07:Crossmaglen are not ones to give a team a second chance and so there was a fitting air on inevitability about the manner in which they secured their sixth All-Ireland Club football title at the expense of Garrycastle at Breffni Park this afternoon.

The Leinster champions let a five-point lead slip in the first game on St Patrick's Day and Cross were never likely to find themselves in that position again.

Indeed, it was as good as over by halftime, after Francis Hanratty netted goals on five and 18 minutes, and club legend Oisin McConville pointed four for a lead of 2-08 to 0-04 at the break.

Garrycastle needed something special after the restart and it came early in the form of a fine Gary Dolan goal. Paul Dillon added a point for the Westmeath side, but they only managed two more scores after that, free-kicks from the boot of Conor Cosgrove, as Cross laid siege to thei defensive third.
