The seasonally adjusted volume of industrial production for manufacturing industries between June and August was up 9.7 per cent on the preceding three month period, according to new figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO).
On an annual basis production for all industries in August 2005 was 16.7 per cent higher than in August last night, the CSO said.
The Modern Sector - comprising a number of high-technology and chemical sectors - showed an annual increase in production for August of 25 per cent, while an increase of 1.9 per cent was recorded in the Traditional sector.
The seasonally adjusted industrial turnover for manufacturing industries was 0.4% higher in the three month period June to August 2005 when compared with the preceding three month period.
On an annual basis turnover in August 2005 was 7.1 per cent higher than in August 2004.
