Employment projects in Gaeltacht areas need to be "culture-proofed", a study on expenditure of EU funds says.
The study, which was presented to the Minister of State for Arts, Heritage, the Gaeltacht and the Islands, Mr Eamon O Cuiv, in Galway yesterday, says sustainable local employment can be created only if the impact on the area is considered.
The report focused on projects in Gaeltacht areas, funded under the EU's Horizon/Disadvantaged and Employment Integra schemes. It was carried out by Integra National Support Structure, WRC Social and Economic Consultants, based in Dublin.
