D'Alessandro heads for Zaragoza

Real Zaragoza have taken Argentine midfielder Andres D'Alessandro on loan from VfL Wolfsburg for next season.

Real Zaragoza have taken Argentine midfielder Andres D'Alessandro on loan from VfL Wolfsburg for next season.

Zaragoza have an option to buy the player who spent the second half of the season playing Premierhsip fottball at Portsmouth at the end of the loan period.

The 25-year-old joined Wolfsburg from River Plate for £6 million in July 2003 and won an Olympic gold medal with Argentina in Athens in 2004.

Although Zaragoza reached the King's Cup final, losing to Espanyol, they finished only 11th in the Primera Liga.
