Dβil voting revolution

The Dβil may shortly be introduced to electronic voting

The Dβil may shortly be introduced to electronic voting. For years, deputies have traipsed through the lobby to record their votes. The Office of Public Works has visited the Spanish Parliament in Madrid and the Basque Parliament in Bilbao to see how they manage new technology voting.

A spokeswoman for the OPW said they had reported to the Government chief whip, Seamus Brennan, and the ball is now in his court. The present method of voting takes about 20 minutes to complete. Introducing electronic voting will allow more time for debate and legislating.
