MaNDaNCE is an all-male company founded by choreographer Paul Johnson more than a decade ago with the aim of exploring contemporary male culture through theatre, as well as extending the boundaries between dance, theatre and politics through original work which challenges male roles. Since 1998, when he was appointed Choreographer-in-Residence at the Project Arts Centre, Johnson has produced four work-in-progress performances, working with 17 different dancers, leading up to a full-length dance piece, Without Hope or Fear. This receives its premiere next week at the Project, previewing this Friday and Saturday.
