Denmark's 1997 world road race championship silver medallist, Bo Hamburger, looks set for a long suspension after his B sample today confirmed he had failed a dope test for performance-enhancing synthetic drug erythropoietin (EPO) in Belgium on April 19th.
The 31-year-old had already been suspended by his Danish team CSC/Tiscalis on May 10th when it was revealed he had failed the test.
Hamburger's suspension will hit team leader Laurent Jalabert's hopes of having a successful Tour de France as he would have been one of his main lieutenants.
