Organisers are trying to arrange a new date in September after 7,000 Pavarotti fans were disappointed on Saturday when the Italian tenor had to cancel his performance in Dublin's Point due to a throat infection.
Last night, concert promoters MCD said it was hoped that the concert would be rescheduled for early September. A date is expected to be announced early this week.
The 69-year-old singer had already performed in the Point Theatre on Thursday night to a capacity crowd. A further 7,000 were expecting to see Pavarotti sing in Ireland for the last time on Saturday night as these shows are part of the opera singer's two-year world farewell tour. He is performing in 40 cities around the world.
Justin Green of MCD said the cancellation was unavoidable as the singer had received medical advice on Saturday afternoon that he should not sing due to a serious throat infection.
He said fans could obtain a refund from the point of purchase if they did not want to attend the rescheduled concert.
