London - The Welsh Secretary, Mr Ron Davies has put an end to months of rumours about his sexuality by admitting that he is bisexual, writes Luke Holland.
In a statement issued by his office at the weekend, Mr Davies said: "Having discussed the matter with my wife, however, and in order to put a stop to the intolerable stream of lurid and inaccurate stories, I am left with no alternative but to confirm that I am, and have been for some time, bisexual."
The Labour MP resigned last October amid a hail of controversy over his "moment of madness" on Clapham Common in London, which led to his being mugged in Brixton. The wrangle sparked a storm of speculation about his sexual orientation and what happened on the common that night.
