Much could be achieved by the Rainbow Coalition in a second term, the leader of Democratic Left said at the week and Mr De Rossa said a commitment to the principle that everyone was entitled to enjoy a fair share of the prosperity enjoyed by the State had been a distinguishing feature of the party and the Government. DL's participation in the next government would ensure that this principle continued to drive policy and enable the State to move rapidly towards a society that was fair, just, democratic and safe.
Mr De Rossa was speaking at a function to mark the fifth anniversary of the party's foundation.
