A police officer told a weekend sitting of the Magistrates’ Court in Co Derry that a man, whom he described as one of the main drug dealers in Limavady, was found with a quantity of cocaine between his buttocks when searched near his home by officers in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The cocaine was found on Ivan Richard Brown (44) when a car in which he was a passenger was stopped by the police during an intelligence-led operation.
The defendant, from Rosseden Park in Limavady, is charged with possessing cocaine with intent to supply it, and with possessing cannabis resin.
Objecting to bail, the officer said police had found a further 28 grams of cocaine in a hide behind the defendant’s garden fence. He said the defendant had 40 previous convictions, seven for drugs offences.
