Liz Roche won the Peter Darrell Choreographic Award 2000 with To Time Taking Blush, which received its Irish debut from Rex Levitates Dance Company this week. Elegantly set by Nicola Hughes and costumed by Sinead Cuthbert, the movement between stately groupings at the start of Denis Roche's insistent score, for which Jonathan Mitchell, Katherine O'Malley, Jenny Roche and Ella Clarke wore nylon jackets and dresses over hoops, suggested a quadrille. This changed to wild coupling between Clarke, stripped down to tights and leotards, and Cyril Accorsi, in an exciting duet which was the best of the piece. It was preceded by Ssshh, 20 minutes by Jenny Roche and Lisa McLoughlin in most unflattering costumes with some stools.
