Tennis:Juan Martin Del Potro wasted no time booking his spot in the second round of Wimbledon as he defeated Flavio Cipolla 6-1 6-4 6-3. The 2009 US Open champion, who has been seeded 24th at the All England Club, broke his opponent's serve six times as he completed an easy victory.
The contest had been held over from Monday due to rain with Del Potro a set and a break up, and the Argentine continued his dominance after the restart, losing just four games in the last set and a half.
Number 15 seed Gilles Simon did not have such an easy time of it against fellow Frenchman Edouard Roger-Vasselin but battled his way to a 4-6 6-4 6-3 7-6 win.
Spanish 25th seed Guillermo Garcia Lopezwas on court for just over an hour when Andrey Golubevretired after losing the first two sets.
