Rail passengers who experienced disruption and delay between Dublin and Galway last Friday are entitled to full refunds from Iarnród Éireann.
Others who experienced delays on the troubled route last week are not being offered compensation.
Customers travelling on the 2.40 p.m. train on Friday from Dublin had to endure three unscheduled stops due to engine failure before completing the last 30 miles of the journey by bus.
It was the fifth train in four days to be delayed during what was described as a bad week on the route.
